Getting home from the hospital and trying to get the perfect swaddle night and tight and snug can sometimes be a challenge.  You think you have it just right and pretty soon there is a little leg sticking out and baby is not warm and comfy.

Try out the Woombie Swaddle. Over a half million happy babies & parents to date... and counting are using the Woombie! The Woombie was designed by a RN & Certified Infant Care Specialist, providing the safest and most comfortable swaddle for your baby. Gently hugging the shoulders & tummy,  the Woombie allows for natural movement of the arms, legs and hips with our signature bebeflex fabric - softly cocooning baby without restricting mobility or development. Its soft eco-fabric mimics the feeling of touch, warmth & cuddle- re-creating the womb environment baby felt prior to birth which is important for calming baby and preventing flailing arms. The Woombie has been shown to promote a more natural and peaceful sleep environment for infants resulting in longer periods of sleep with less restlessness. The Woombie prevents issues such as startling, face scratching, overheating and dangerous loose unraveled blankets from covering baby's face.  Infant Care Experts recommend the Woombie products to institute successful sleep patterns from birth to 6 months

It is a personal preference but a bassinet has some advantages for a new baby.  When they are tiny, your baby may seem cozier in a cradle or bassinet than a full-size crib. He may look particularly un-cozy in a crib with no extra bedding such as blankets or quilts which are not recommended for your sleeping baby because they raise the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

You might also appreciate the small size of a bassinet or cradle compared to a crib. If space is limited, this makes it easier to have your baby to sleep in the same room with you. The American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends that babies sleep in the same room as their parents (although not in the same bed), because it's thought to reduce the risk of SIDS. Rooming-in also makes evenings easier for breastfeeding moms.

If you use a cradle or bassinet, make sure it's well supported on the bottom so it can't collapse. And it should have a wide base to keep it from tipping if someone bumps against it. Keep in mind the manufacturer's weight and size limitations, making sure to move your baby to a crib when he's too big for the smaller bed. If you can't find manufacturer's guidelines — because your cradle has been handed down, for example — a 20-pound limit is reasonable.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, does not know what the sex of the baby is.  I think that her and William want it to be a total surprise!  What do you think it will be?  I am opting for a boy!

I also read that Kate intends to have the birth natural instead of electing to have a caesarean birth.
Palace sources said that Kate intended to use hypnotherapy to ease the pain of delivery.

I found it interesting the way that the birth will be announced and the order.  The first indication that the Duchess has given birth will come when an aide leaves the hospital carrying a piece of paper with details of the baby's sex, weight and time of birth. The note will be relayed to Buckingham Palace, where it will be placed on an easel.

The news will then be put out on the Palace's Twitter feed. Aides said no electronic communication would be made until the official notice was released. "It's important this is done with a degree of dignity and with half an eye on the historical significance," they said. No announcement of the birth will be made until after the Queen, other senior members of the Royal family, and the Middleton family have been informed. If the Duchess gives birth at night no announcement is likely until the Queen has woken.

Bookies have taken a stream of bets that the baby is a boy after the Duchess was reported to have bought a blue pram. However, a royal source said: "The Duke and Duchess don't know the sex of the baby and they have decided not to find out beforehand.

I remember following Princess Diana when she was pregnant and having William.  My daughter was born about 6 months earlier than Prince William so I watched and read a lot about her and was always fascinated with her. The baby, which will be third in line to the throne, will be born in the same London hospital wing where William himself was born to Prince Charles and princess Diana.

There have been pictures created from the combing of photos of what people think that the Royal Baby will look like.  With William and Kate, I am sure that the Royal Baby will be adorable.
